Es28-SOM is an ideal solution for low-cost products with multimedia and connectivity requirements that common 32bit microcontrollers cannnot achieve. Thanks to an integrated Power Management Unit, Freescale i.MX28 Applications Processors only need an inexpensive DDR2 memory and few passive components to boot a complete Linux distribution.

With peripherals such as LCD controller, Audio I2S, USB HS/OTG, 100Mbps Ethernet MAC or Nand Flash controller, by choosing Es28-SOM your product will get a high performance with a cost similar to a microcontroller-based system, eliminating the need for external peripheral controllers. In addition, the capability of running a GNU/Linux OS will shorten the software development time thanks to the high number of free libraries and tools available.
